National Road Safety Week 2023

National Road Safety Week (NRSW) runs from 14 to 21 May 2023.

On average, 40 people are killed and around 480 people are seriously injured on Territory roads each year.

Last year, 52 people lost their lives on our roads. This week is a timely reminder that as individuals, and as a community, we all have the power to make our roads safer.

We have a choice to do the right thing and prevent avoidable deaths and serious injuries on Territory roads.

How to show support

We can all show support by:

  • taking the pledge to 'Drive So Others Survive' – take the pledge
  • displaying a yellow ribbon or sticker on your car, motorbike, truck or bicycle
  • displaying the NRSW poster in your workplace
  • sharing your support of the NRSW social media campaign and using the following hashtags in your photos:
    • #TowardsZeroNT
    • #NRSW
    • #DriveSOS
  • wearing a yellow lapel ribbon
  • talking to your family, friends and colleagues about safe driving and why it’s important.
