Newland Park Family Fun Day – Saturday 11 May 2024
On Saturday 11 May 2024, the Road Safety team will be holding a Family Fun Day at the Newland Park Road Safety Centre in Alice Springs, from 9am–1pm, at 36 Newland Street, Gillen.
The event is being held during National Road Safety Week, which runs from 5–12 May 2024.
Children and families are encouraged to bring their own bike or scooter and their helmet, and practice safe cycling in an off-road, supervised environment. If you do not have a bike, scooter or helmet, or unable to bring them with you, the Road Safety team will have a range of bikes and helmets available to suit children of all ages.
If you don’t feel like riding, there will be plenty of other options to ensure you have a fun-packed day, including a jumping castle, art displays and a free sausage sizzle.
There will also be activities and displays for attendees to show their support for National Road Safety Week with Hector the Road Safety Cat making an appearance on the day and getting amongst the fun.
The Road Safety team will be on site and available to provide advice about bike and road safety education, and information about the services they provide to schools and the wider community. Parents can also utilise the opportunity to receive practical advice on road safety topics of interest.
Other key road safety stakeholders, such as NT Fire and Rescue Service and NT Police will also be present and available to speak with community members about their services or answer any questions.
Don’t miss out on an epic day!
