Newland Park Road Safety Centre Family Fun Day – Saturday 22 October

On Saturday 22 October 2022, the Road Safety team will be holding a Family Fun Day at the Newland Park Road Safety Centre in Alice Springs, from 10am – 2pm to kick off Children’s Week 2022.

Families are encouraged to bring along their bike or scooter and their helmet and practice cycling safety. If you do not have a bike, scooter or helmet, or are unable to bring them down, the team will have a range of bikes and helmets for use by children of various ages.

There will be a free sausage sizzle, arts and crafts and plenty of fun activities for the kids. Of course, the ever-popular Hector the Cat will be out and about on the day and getting amongst all the fun!

The Road Safety team will be on site and available to provide advice about bike and road safety education, and information about the services they provide to schools and the wider community. Parents can also receive practical advice on child car restraints, with two free child restraints on offer as part of a lucky door prize for those who register on the day.

Other key road safety stakeholders, such as NT Fire and Rescue Service and NT Police, will also be present and available to speak with community members about their services or answer any questions.

Don’t miss out on an epic day of fun, road safety education and a great atmosphere.
