Types of sessions available
Workplace or community group presentation/workshop
We will work with you to tailor the content and delivery of our road safety presentation or workshop to meet your organisation’s specific needs and address relevant road safety issues.
School education session
School education sessions are delivered by Road Safety’s Community Engagement Officers and are based on the Australian Curriculum Safer Roads Teacher Resources (more information below).
We will work with you to identify your school’s specific needs and tailor our sessions to address these key areas of concerns.
Safer roads teacher resource professional development
The Safer Roads Teacher Resources meet four of the five Key Ideas that shape the AC:HPE. These resources have been designed with a focus on educative purposes and written from the perspective of a strengths-based approach. They also allow for the development of health literacy and encourage a critical inquiry approach. Your school will receive a free Safer Roads Teacher Resource pack with every Professional Development workshop completed.
The Safer Roads Teacher Resources suite consists of separate resource packs for Early Childhood, Primary years and Middle/Senior years.
Bike education
Bike education lessons are in high demand and availability is limited. We recommend booking your session as early as possible.
In the Darwin region, bike education is delivered in two parts. Part 1 consists of a theory lesson, which is delivered at least one week prior to students undertaking Part 2. Part 2 consists of a practical lesson held at the Parap Road Safety Centre.
For the Alice Springs region, both theory and practical lessons are delivered at the Newland Park Road Safety Centre. The theory lesson can be delivered at your school upon request. Alternative service providers may run sessions in Road Safety NT’s absence.
Outside of the Darwin and Alice Springs regions, bike education will be delivered as a combined theory and practical lesson at your school.
