Use of ATVs
In the Northern Territory (NT), quad bikes and off-road buggies are popular for their use as recreational or agricultural vehicles, used primarily on private or farming rural properties and on vacant land.
They are used by local and state governments, farmers, producers, recreation clubs, adventure tours and the general public for personal recreation.
There are various NT motorsport clubs and associations who are passionate about promoting quad bike riding in the NT with competition events held each year such as the Thumper Series and Kamfari mud race.
